After you lodge
What happens after you lodge
A notice follows a dated sequence with a known end. Here it is, step by step, so you are never left wondering where it is up to.
The sequence
Reference number
You get one the moment you lodge. Quote it in every message.
Review, within one business day
A person reads the notice, the declaration and the document, and accepts it, holds it for more evidence, or declines it with the reason.
The owners corporation is told first
It receives what was lodged, the publication date, how to reply, and the ways a notice ends. Nothing is public yet.
Fourteen days to reply
The owners corporation may reply, mark the matter resolved by resolution, or do nothing. You are told when it replies.
Published on day fifteen
The notice appears on the building's page with the reply, or with "no reply received". You, the owners corporation and anyone watching the building are told.
The life of the notice
You can mark it resolved, correct a fact or withdraw it. Complaints start a seven-day review. A court order is acted on at once. After the set time the notice is archived.
What you are responsible for
You remain legally responsible for your notice. Stick to provable facts, keep the document you relied on, and tell us when the position changes. A notice cannot include dollar figures or opinions.
